MAGAMBA RAIN FOREST
Approximate trekking loop distance coverage 12km
Walk uphill through traditional villages, farm lands and learn about cultural life of the Shambaa and Kilindi ethnic groups. Interact with the local people and possibly get involved in some farming activities. Keep trekking to Magamba rain forest and enjoy the two horned chameleons on your trail. On the same way learn about spiritual and medicinal herbals as used in everyday life of the traditional Shambaa, Mbugu and Pare speaking people. Get into to the thick rain forest of Magamba a home for different primates. Spend your time watching the black and white colobus monkeys, velvet and blue monkeys. Keep trekking to an old Germany trench and hear about its historical military use by the Germany colonial solders. Get into the cave a few meters in and observe bats hanging on the trench wall while taking some pictures. Hike to the forest peak and enjoy the view of Lushoto town and the royal village. Get your packed or picnic lunch at the same peak and return to town in the same afternoon.

OPTION TWO
LUSHOTO HISTORICAL TOWN TOUR.
Approximate trekking loop distance coverage 8km
After breakfast get picked from the hotel and start walking through the streets of Lushoto historical town to the market and get an experience of the sold and bought local items. Visit an Old Lutheran church and cemeteries of the missionaries. Keep walking to one of the very old post offices in Tanzania through a colonial prison. On the way learn some historical facts and information about these buildings and structures. Extend the trek to Dortch an Old Dutch street and then to Montessori sisters where you can experience their organic products especially, cartage chees, breads and coffee. Return to the Hotel in the afternoon after having Lunch.

OPTION THREE
MKUZU WATER FALL
Approximate trekking loop distance coverage 14km.
After breakfast get picked from the hotel and drive for 20 minutes to Magamba village. Drop at the village for historical commentaries then start walking to Mkuzu water fall through traditional villages and farm lands. On the way visit one of the local traditional breweries and learn how the local bear (boha) and spirit can be made from sugar cane juice. Have some for a taste and keep walking through other villages to the water fall. On the way you have a good chance to observe the two horned chameleons and learn about medicinal spiritual herbals before getting in to the forest. At the water fall learn about the spiritual use of the site. Get your picnic lunch at the same place and walk back to Migambo village and get into a public min bus back to Lushoto town.

THE GROWING ROCK & SONI WATERFALLS.
Approximate trekking loop distance coverage 14km
After breakfast get picked from the Hotel, walk to the bus stand and drive to Soni for 15minutes. Drop at Soni and explore the market, trek uphill through traditional villages and farm lands to the growing rock. If a season then observe butterflies and other insects flying on flowers. Enjoy the view while getting primary commentaries about the place and its spiritual use. After lunch trek back to Soni and visit a nearby water fall. Enjoy the splashes at the water fall and walk to the road and take a public transport to Lushoto town in the evening.

IRENTE VIEW POINT.

After breakfast get picked from the hotel and start trekking uphill to Irente view point. Pass through traditional farm lands and villages. Interact with the local people on your way. At the view point feel the breeze and enjoy the view of the Mkomanzi flood plain, Masai villages, old Germanic sisal plantations and experience the cultural difference between the people of the plain and the mountain people. Get your picnic lunch at the same place or walk for 15 minutes to Irente biodiversity reserve and get lunch at Irente farm. The lunch at the farm includes brown bread, salad, cheese, yoghurt and organic juices.

OPTION SIX
COMBINATION OF MAGAMBA AND IRENTE VIEWPOINT
Approximate loop distance coverage 17km
After breakfast start trekking from the your lodge, though the village to Magamba rainforest via the royal village of Kwembago, hereby the Shambaa traditional history will be deeply explained by the well trained tour guide with traditional local people welcoming you in the village then latter climb the Magamba peak 1850m above the sea level offering you superb view over the Masai plain and Lushoto town, inter into Magamba nature reserve well known for its biodiversity and lots of birds, by chance observe monkeys black and white Columbus and other species, with hundreds of chameleons on the way, After the forest walk continue walking to Irente farm passing through the Irente view point. Here there is a breathtaking view of the Maasai plains where domestic stock roams, see Lake Jipe (an alkaline lake), Mazinde town and the road from Moshi to Dar (the capital of Tanzania). After this stop continue walking to Irente Farm where passing through the sugarcane, banana, coffee, potatoes and vegetable plantations. On the arrival at Irente farm Lunch will be served from the locally homemade Brown Bread, Butter, Cheese, Several types of Jams, Juice and Fresh Vegetables and Fruits along with Usambara tea and coffee. After lunch walk back to Lushoto Town passing through natural trails inside the Montane Forest, then heading back to the town.to and continue to the Lawns Hotel for overnight.

OPTION SEVEN
COMBINATION OF MAGAMBA RAIN FOREST AND MKUZU WATER FALLS TOUR
Approximate loop distance coverage 17km
Trek to the Magamba rain forest through Lushoto Historical town, go up hill to Kwembago royal village. On the way have some short breaks for two horned chameleons, medicinal and spiritual plants commentaries. Stop at Kwembago royal village for history and cultural commentaries for the Kilindi dynasty and other ethnic groups in the Usambara Mountains. Keep moving to an old proposed colonial coffee estate and get explained why proved failure. Hike through traditional farm lands and interact with the local people while learning their local ways of leaving. Get into the Magamba rain forest a home for Black and white colobus monkeys. Hike to the forest peak 1,850m below the sea level and enjoy the spectacular view of Lushoto historical town. Walk a few meters aside the peak and explore an old German trench which has been a very important habitat for different nocturnal animals especially insectivore bats. Walk in to the cave a few meters and take some pictures of these creatures. After lunch at the peak walk off the forest to Magamba village and get into a public mini bus and drop before Migambo village. Start trekking to a local brewery and stop there to learn how local bear and spirits are processed using sugar cane juice. Keep walking to the water fall in Mkuzu forest. Enjoy the splashes at the fall and get some commentaries about the traditional use of the site. Walk back to Migambo village and catch up with one of the min buses heading back to Lushoto town. Arrive in the Hotel in the evening.

Visit a traditional healer and learn how they use different herbals and magic in the healing process. One of the traditional dances may be organized in request for an additional cost. Walk back to Lushoto town for lunch in one of the local restaurants OR extend the trekking to Irente farm for Lunch.
